I contacted Sherry because I had developed a 'hump' and my shoulders felt stiff. I spend 10-14 hours a day in front of a computer and my shoulders were paying the toll. I was trying to pull them back, but it didn't really work. The Alexander Technique lessons with Sherry showed me how to form new habits in order to use my body in the best way, how to relax all those muscles that tense up without needing to and also in our final session she gave me a few tips on running, which I've put into practice and I now run faster and easier than ever. I felt really comfortable with Sherry to ask for advice (even, how to walk on heels gracefully and painlessly!). She is always offering 110% in every single lesson. It was a delight to work with Sherry, and I'm planning on having 'top-up' lessons as I go along implementing what I've learnt
I was recommended to AT for postural realignment. This was suggested to help to avoid further spinal surgery and to allow me to continue to swim regularly. I was drawn to Sherry because of her interest in swimming. The lessons are both enjoyable and insightful and have become part of a regular routine. My back is improving, I continue to swim and maintaining a better posture is becoming second nature
Dr Chris Wooldridge - Dentist
My job as a Dentist had been putting untold pressures on my back and shoulders for a number of years. I had visited osteopaths, chiropractors and acupuncturists but did not feel satisfied. I have seen Sherry now for a number of months and feel I have got to the root of my issues, I now understand the theories regarding how to minimise unnecessary tensions, pressures and positions on my body as a whole; preventing the aches and pains I was experiencing previously. I am very grateful to Sherry for her assistance and would recommend her caring, patient and professional skills to anybody.

Following a serious leg injury and a long recovery period I found my body was compensating in all the wrong ways. My posture, walk, how I stood and even how I sat down was being affected. I began to develop lower back pain and started to limp and put unnecessary pressure and tension on my body. Sherry's help was invaluable in showing me how I could restore the balance in my posture, which has been fantastic in aiding my recovery. The turning point for me was one particular session where I could physically feel the difference in my movement - and how easy and natural sitting and standing should be.

I was so relieved to find Sherry: before my first session with her I was in increasingly unmanageable amounts of pain and I'd pretty much given up hope for the future. My back pain was affecting everything; my work as a composer suffered and it made me very unhappy that I couldn't run around and play with my little boy as much as I'd like. I knew from the first session that Sherry would be able to help me, and just as importantly that I would be able to help myself. I feel as though the Alexander Technique has given me control again, something that had been sorely missing from my life. The way Sherry talks about pain and our attitudes toward it makes so much sense and really struck a chord with me. The change in my daily pain levels has been amazing and it's also affected the way that I'm able to cope with pain and the accompanying anxiety levels when it does surface again. I no longer panic but have been provided with practical strategies to help manage my pain.

This sculpture reminds me of the sense of expansion I feel in the Alexander lessons so I want to give it to you to say thank you for the great lessons.

After many years of long working days sitting at my desk in front of my computer, I had developed really bad posture habits, not only when sitting down but also when standing or walking. All of this together with a period of really high stress levels made me look for something and someone that could help me. The Alexander Technique sessions with Sherry brought a new positive dimension to my life. From the very first session I could see how my body posture affected so many aspects of my life. Even at the gym when exercising I had bad posture habits, something I didn't realise at the time, but came to light once I had my AT sessions with Sherry. Through each single session with Sherry I learnt how to improve not only my postural habits but also to listen to my body and my mind, changing for the better, my quality of life. Sherry is a wonderful teacher, a great listener and a caring and very skilful professional. Her lessons are something I very much look forward to every week, for which I am very grateful.
Over the last several years I have used the Alexander Technique to release a frozen shoulder and a spasming and tweaking neck. Learning to cooperate with and not overrule my body seems like a good form of mindfulness to me. My current, valued teacher is Sherry Loh, who goes well out of her way to find the places where her knowledge intersects with my concerns.

Having suffered from jaw, neck and shoulder pain persistently for over a year and used up the painkiller and physiotherapy routes without long term improvement, I decided to give Alexander technique a try. I started lessons with Sherry just over three months ago and have already become so much more aware of the way I hold my body and the way I balance when sitting and standing. Sherry has proved to be an empathic and patient teacher and I can wholeheartedly recommend both Sherry and Alexander technique to help anyone suffering from persistent aches and pains.
Prof John Weinman - University Professor
Sherry is a really fluent and natural Alexander teacher as she is a great listener and teaches in a very supportive and coherent way. My sessions with her have really increased my moment to moment awareness of my body's structure and posture, and the way all this works to influence my health and well-being.

After many years of poor posture and a complete lack of appreciation or understanding of my body, I was convinced by my better half to take an Alexander Technique lesson with Sherry Loh. After meeting Sherry, calmly discussing my postural problems, and experiencing my first hands on AT session, I knew I had made a great choice. The technique has made me more aware of my body and how I can put it to better use. As a result, my posture has improved considerably, whether walking, running or sitting at my desk. After a few short weeks of daily practice, it felt like a great pressure had been removed from my neck and shoulders, and it has given me a new level of confidence I didn't expect to find.
